Abstract | This study examines the impact of ocean acidification on Gecarcoidea natalis shell mass by exposing shells to varying pH levels over 30 days. Results show a strong negative correlation between pH and shell mass retention, with the greatest loss at pH 3 . The findings highlight the harmful effects of acidic conditions on calcareous structures, emphasizing the ecological risks of ocean acidification and the need for mitigation strategies. |
