Estimating the Awareness of Homeopathic Treatment in Pune Suburban and Rural Area

Abstract | Abstract- Background-Homoeopathy, a form of alternative medicine, has gained popularity worldwide due to its holistic approach, minimal side effects and economic affordability. Pune District, located in the Indian state of Maharashtra, presents an interesting case study due to its diverse population. It includes urban, suburban, and rural communities. The suburban and rural areas may not have similar levels of awareness or access to such services. Materials and methods- The study design is Descriptive cross-sectional survey and location of study was PHC of Loni, Wagholi, Khanapur and Dehu. The population (total 168 people) selected for the surveys is according to inclusion criteria. This survey took 2 months for completion. Most of the data collected from face-to-face interviews, paper-based questionnaires, Consent form were used. The independent sample t-test and the Pearson chi-squared test were utilized to determine the relationship between the categorical variables. Data was entered into Microsoft Excel 2016. SPSS version 29 was used for the analysis, and a p-value of less than 0.05 was deemed significant. Result- Homoeopathic Unawareness seen in Rural areas Khanapur, Dehu is 46(66.67%) suburban area Wagholi & Loni is 64(67.37%) p value (0.925). CONCLUSION- Conclusion from the above observation is that there is Not much Difference in Awareness about Homoeopathic treatment Those few who are aware are not Preferring homoeopathic medication. |
