Abstract | Maxillofacial trauma, which includes injuries to the facial bones and soft tissues, is primarily caused by factors such as traffic accidents, interpersonal violence, and injuries sustained during sports. The examination of its epidemiology is essential for identifying key trends, risk factors, and opportunities for preventive action. This review compiles and analyzes recent studies on the prevalence of maxillofacial trauma, emphasizing common causes, affected demographics, and effective preventive measures. Key strategies discussed include the implementation of safety regulations, public education efforts, and the promotion of protective equipment to reduce the occurrence and severity of facial injuries. |
