Abstract | In recent years, the Indian Rupee has declined significantly due to many domestic and international factors. This paper explores the causes of the decline, which include Capital Outflows, Trade and Current Account Deficits, etc. This paper also examines the impacts of the decline, such as Macroeconomic impacts, Sectoral impacts etc. In addition to causes and impacts, this paper also evaluates the policy measures adopted by several countries which contributed to the decline of the Indian Rupee such as rate hikes by the U.S. Federal Reserve, OPEC’s oil price strategy, effects of the US-China Trade Wars etc. |
