Abstract :The Kallil Cave Temple, located in Kerala’s Ernakulam district, is a unique symbol of India’s cultural and spiritual heritage. Famous for its hanging boulder and dedication to Jain, Hindu, and Buddhist traditions, this site exemplifies the rich confluence of the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) in its architectural design, spiritual practices, and ecological harmony. This paper delves into the historical, cultural, and spiritual significance of the Kallil Temple, focusing on its alignment with IKS principles, such as vastu shastra, ecological sustainability, and syncretism. By synthesizing information from historical records, local traditions, and scholarly analyses, this paper offers a holistic perspective on the Kallil Cave Temple as a living repository of India’s ancient wisdom.
