Author(s) Dr.T,Sasikala
Country India
Abstract India’s agriculture is a critical component of the economy, employing a large percentage of the population and contributing to both domestic food security and global supply chains. With the increasing challenges of climate change, resource depletion, and environmental degradation, the need for sustainable agricultural practices has never been more urgent. The concept of a green economy, which promotes economic growth and development while ensuring environmental sustainability, is crucial for transforming India’s agricultural sector. This article examines the intersection of agriculture and the green economy in India, exploring policies, practices, and innovations that foster sustainable farming, conserve resources, and enhance productivity. It also highlights key challenges, opportunities, and the role of government initiatives in supporting a green transition. Ultimately, this paper emphasizes the importance of integrating environmental stewardship with agricultural practices to secure a sustainable and equitable future for India’s farmers and consumers alike
