Author(s) Raghav Polkampally

Abstract Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has evolved from a philanthropic concept to a strategic business imperative with significant implications for employee motivation and retention. This study explores the impact of CSR initiatives on workforce engagement, job satisfaction, and long-term commitment. Drawing from Stakeholder Theory, Social Exchange Theory, and Self-Determination Theory, the research highlights how CSR fosters organizational identification, enhances job satisfaction, and reduces turnover rates. Through a comparative analysis of industry practices, the study underscores the role of authentic CSR initiatives in shaping a positive workplace culture. The findings suggest that organizations with strong CSR commitments experience higher employee engagement, improved retention, and enhanced employer branding. However, the research also cautions against superficial CSR efforts, emphasizing the importance of transparency, employee involvement, and alignment with core business values. By integrating CSR into their strategic framework, organizations can cultivate a motivated and loyal workforce while contributing to broader societal goals.
