Gender Dynamics and Stereotypes in Hergé's Tintin: A Critical Exploration of Female Representation

Abstract This research paper examines the gender bias present in the Tintin graphic novels, created by the Belgian artist Hergé. Through a critical lens, this paper aims to analyze how the narratives, characters, and visual representation in Tintin reinforce patriarchal norms and contribute to the perpetuation of gender biases, with particular focus on the absence and stereotypical portrayal of female characters.
