Abstract Social media's pervasiveness among young people has sparked worries about how it can affect their mental health. The purpose of this study is to look into the connection between youth mental health outcomes and social media use. A questionnaire was given to a sample of participants in a survey-based technique.
200 children between the ages of 18 and 25. The findings indicate a substantial correlation between excessive use of social media and elevated symptoms of loneliness, anxiety, and depression.
Additionally, the study shows that children who spend more than two hours a day on social media are more likely to suffer from sleep issues, cyberbullying, and low self-esteem. The study's conclusions emphasize how important it is that children understand the possible dangers of using social media excessively.
Keywords social media, mental health, youngsters, survey-based study, depression, anxiety, loneliness.
