Abstract | India's real estate industry has witnessed fast growth, fueled by urbanization, economic growth, and changing consumer needs. Millennials (Generation Y), constituting a major percentage of the population, are increasingly becoming major investors in the real estate market. In contrast to generations past, millennials seek affordability, convenience in locations, integration of technology, and green housing. Yet, there are a few issues, such as high housing prices, career mobility, loan availability, and lifestyle choices, that affect their investment. Government policies, the emergence of digital platforms, and alternative investment options have also impacted their strategy toward real estate investment. This study intends to investigate the drivers of Indian millennials' real estate investment patterns, their motivations, issues, and the influence of financial planning on their investment decisions. Through the examination of these trends, the study hopes to offer useful insights for real estate developers, policymakers, and financial institutions to meet the changing needs of millennial investors. |
Keywords | Real estate investment, Indian millennials, Generation Y, property buying decisions, financial planning, market trends, investment behavior, homeownership, affordability, risk perception, digital real estate platforms, economic factors, mortgage accessibility, sustainable housing, urban real estate. |
