While AI is transforming the way we do things, it also offers profound insights into our own nature and capabilities.

Artificial intelligence has ushered in a new digital era, influencing not only technological development but also making significant strides in sectors like healthcare, education, environmental sustainability, and more. In the social sector, AI plays a multifaceted role in addressing critical challenges and enhancing the quality of life for people worldwide. Its potential to drive positive change is immense, though ethical considerations must be handled carefully.

This survey provides a comprehensive overview of AI for social good, exploring its application across diverse domains and the techniques that power it. Additionally, it delves into common challenges faced by AI initiatives and outlines directions for future research. The paper underscores the role of AI in promoting social good, highlighting both the opportunities and considerations tied to its applications in healthcare, education, and environmental sustainability.
