Abstract In a world where digital technology is transforming every aspect of our lives, cooperatives play a major role in the social and solidarity economy, particularly in rural areas. However, their transition to digital remains slow and uneven. This study examines how digital social innovation (DSI) – the use of digital tools to improve cooperative practices – impacts the performance and sustainable development of cooperatives in the Marrakech-Safi region. Through a survey of 85 local cooperatives, data was collected on their use of social media, online sales platforms, management software, and digital training. Using an econometric approach, we sought to understand the extent to which these innovations influence revenue, market access, and job creation. The results reveal that cooperatives adopting digital tools experience better economic growth, increased visibility, and easier access to funding. However, disparities persist: cooperatives with limited internet access or low levels of digital training struggle to fully leverage these opportunities. These findings highlight the need for tailored support to promote digital inclusion among cooperatives, through targeted training and enhanced technological assistance. This article thus offers insights for public and private actors seeking to strengthen the role of digital technology in Morocco's social and solidarity economy
