Economic impact of sexual crime against women in India

Abstract	Sexual violence against women is a reality but is rarely discussed. Almost 50 percent ofthe world’s population are women, which is considered one of the most vulnerablegroups of society, the society predominantly residing mostly in the hands of men.Sexual violence or crime affects more than 50% of women across the globe and has asignificant impact on the world’s economy. This research paper is centrally focused onthe adverse effects on economic growth and development due to the increasingnumber of sexual violence cases against women in the context of India. Based on NCBreports, this research paper studies sexual crime cases against women that happen inIndia daily and which parts of the country are most affected.
