Abstract	"The future of the nation is taking shape in the classroom. This statement of the Kothari Commission report is familiar to all. The important burden of shaping the future rests on the shoulders of teachers. Therefore, inculcating values and developing skills in the student teacher who aspires to be a teacher is of utmost importance. -The State Teacher Training Board has been responsible for the development of suitable pre-service courses since 1968. Diploma in Primary Education course is a milestone in this development.
