Abstract This type of qualitative research through a phenomenological approach, while the results of the study show that community activities as fishermen are carried out to meet family needs, especially coastal community activities, these activities are carried out both individually and in groups, at the welfare level of the activities of coastal communities, the majority of whom are fishermen, have not been optimal in meeting the economic needs of the family, so other efforts are needed so that the content Their economy is sufficient, in addition to government support in the form of the concept of empowerment is needed, coastal communities need to be given guidance in the form of training, coaching both activities related to fishermen's activities or training in the form of sewing sewing, cake making, fish shredded making, workshops and others as an effort so that the community has other skills outside of their expertise as fishermen
