Abstract | Saffron (Crocus sativus L.) cultivation in the Kashmir Valley is an age-old tradition that intertwines cultural heritage, economic sustenance, and agrarian dynamics. This research paper delves into a comprehensive analysis of saffron cultivation, focusing on its botanical intricacies, socio-economic significance, and the imperative of sustainable practices. Through a multidisciplinary approach encompassing botanical studies, socio-economic analyses, and ecological considerations, this research provides a holistic understanding of saffron cultivation's past, present, and future in the unique terrain of Kashmir.
