Author(s) Geetika Dev
Country India
Abstract the constitutional recognition of Maithili in India and Nepal varies, reflecting the wider complexity of linguistic diversity in the region. Although India has given Maithili linguistic status, Nepal recognizes it as one of several languages spoken in the country and its use is regulated in government and official documents. The summary also looks at challenges and opportunities to promote the recognition and preservation of Maithili in both countries. Recognizing and responding to these challenges are crucial steps to ensure the continued vitality and cultural relevance of the Maithili language in education and the constitutional framework.
