Abstract	To assure the safety and effectiveness of any new treatment, clinical research is a crucial step in the drug discovery process. Clinical trials are essential in the worldwide scientific era of today for bringing new and improved medications to market. Human volunteers (subjects) are used in clinical trials to test prospective treatments to see whether they should be licensed for use in the general population. Due to a number of variables, India served as a global centre for clinical trials in the past. Clinical trials and clinical trials in India are discussed in this essay.
