Abstract | In the evolving landscape of higher education in Morocco, with a particular focus on the prestigious Mohammed V University in Rabat, this article delves into the crucial role of evaluation in the distance learning process. Recognizing the ever-growing significance of technology and distance education, we explore the changing evaluative practices within the institution while adhering to the fundamental principles of education. This research offers an in-depth analysis of distance evaluation practices in Moroccan higher education, grounded in a strong theoretical foundation. It also examines their impact on student motivation and academic performance, all while addressing the challenges associated with the continuity of remote learning and assessments.
