Role Of Rural Infrastructure In Agricultural Growth In Punjab

Abstract | Rural infrastructure is absolutely essential to agriculture's strength, which sets the pace for our nation's economic development. Despite being a small state (1.54 percent of the country's total size), Punjab produces a significant amount of foodgrains, mainly wheat and paddy for the central market. The well-known "Green Revolution", the adoption of high-quality seeds, and the expansion of agri-infrastructure in the Punjabi state have all been directly linked to the growth of the agricultural sector. This study examines the connection between farm infrastructure and agricultural productivity in Punjab from 1991 to 2022. The data reveals that the rural infrastructure has contributed significantly to improving agricultural growth in Punjab. |
