Abstract | ABSTRACT Concrete can be conceivably replaced with a material that has concrete's other characteristics--strength, durability, mass availability and low cost--but does not release so much CO2 into the atmosphere during manufacture. The production of cement, the primary component of concrete, accounts for 5 to 10 percent of the worlds total carbon dioxide emissions; the process is an important contributor to global warmingFly ash is generally used as replacement of cement, as an admixture in concrete, and in manufacturing of cement. Whereas concrete containing fly ash as partial replacement of cement poses problems of delayed early strength development, concrete containing fly ash as partial replacement of fineaggregate will have no delayed early strength development, but rather will enhance its strength on long-term basis. This study will be an analysis of replacing part of fine aggregate with fly ash. The main experimental study of this of the project is to replace the sand and cement by suitable nano materials which will have the same properties of sand and cement. The strength of nano particles in blended concrete will be compared with the normal concrete. The blended concrete are made with different percentages as 10%, 20%&30% of fly ash in fine aggregate and with 10%, 20%&30% of fly ash 10%, 20%& 30% of hypo sludge in cement is replaced. These blended concrete with different percentages of specimens are made with well graded sand and sand passing through 425 micron sieve. The compressive strength of different percentages of specimens is compared. The percentage of replacement of cement and sand by fly ash and hypo sludge of specimens in which the highest strength is gained is the correct percentage of replacement for cement and sand by fly ash and hypo sludge. |
