Author(s) MOORE L JOHNSON
Country Liberia
Abstract Uganda has made significant efforts in decentralization, and the intent has been to significantly empower people and accelerate growth, improve the quality of service delivery and boost government efforts in steering good governance and improving quality of life. Furthermore, Uganda has been promoting good governance and participatory democracy by increasing openness and accountability in Local Governments. With its effectiveness on decentralization, a wide range of powers, responsibilities, and functions have been delegated to District Local Governments. Moreover, the Lower Local Council facilitates governance processes and contributes to national development efforts. Therefore, this paper stands to unravel Uganda's achievements and progress with its commitment and effectiveness in Decentralization.
