Discursive Resistance to the Western Imperialism in Tayeb Salih's Season of Migration to the North (1969)

Abstract	Post-colonial literature has always been aiming to refuting the orientalists' distortion of the East. The binary division of the West/East, Self/Other, and Centre/Margin has been heavily stereotyped and debated in colonial texts, but of course, has been attacked by post-colonial critiques and authors. However, this paper tries to shed light on an iconic way of writing back to the Western hegemony on the Orient and its peoples. Feminizing the East in colonial texts is represented and perpetuated in many colonial texts. Yet, the case study of this paper uses the same colonial discourses against the colonizer and deprives the West of the position of the Subject that is celebrated in all colonial texts.
