Abstract | The 2024 Lok Sabha election marked a significant shift in the political landscape of Meghalaya, with the emergence of the Voice of the People Party (VPP) as a dominant force. This research article explores the implications of VPP's victory, examining the factors that contributed to its success, the changes in political dynamics, and the potential impact and prospects of the VPP in the state. The study elaborates further on the grassroots mobilization strategies, anti-incumbency sentiment, and digital outreach that propelled the VPP to prominence. It analyzes the party's progressive agenda centered on clean governance, transparency, and development, highlighting its appeal to a disillusioned electorate. Furthermore, the article investigates the challenges ahead for the VPP, including establishing itself amidst entrenched political rivals and building a robust organizational structure. Through an in-depth exploration of these themes, this research aims to provide insights into the transformative potential of the VPP and its implications for the future trajectory of Meghalaya politics. |
