Abstract | The most recent developments in geographic information systems GIS and remote sensing technologies are examined in detail in the “Recent trends and applications in GIS and remote sensing” study. Effective spatial data analysis is a critical function of these fundamental tools in important domains like urban planning and environmental monitoring. The study focuses on current trends, especially new developments in sensor technology, satellite images and advanced data processing methods. Importantly, it investigates practical applications through compelling research in agriculture, forestry, environmental science, catastrophe management, and remote sensing demonstrating their interdisciplinary character effortlessly integrating with artificial intelligence and big data analytics. Significant ecological applications such as land cover change detection and climate change assessments are among the key issues as are urban design techniques that improve mobility and disaster resilience. Furthermore, the study addresses ethical questions about data protection and responsible geospatial information usage, supporting a comprehensive and conscientious approach to these disruptive technologies. |
